ART OF ARM BALANCES Pt 2
Let’s face it: arm balances are like the rubiks cube of yoga. Each one of them awe inspiring and uniquely different and challenging. These postures can often puzzle yogis due to their awkward anatomical positioning, demand in effort and strength and synergetic placement of our own unique body proportions in order to actually elevate. Earlier in the year we examined common arm balances practiced in the vinyasa flow setting. In this second workshop installment, we will be breaking down the anatomy, structural setup and specific nuances for more demanding arm balances such as mayurasana, kukkutasana, astravakrasana, eka pada galavasana and grasshopper variations. This workshop is an opportunity to deepen the understanding of the complex demands of these poses and how to hone in on your strength and flexibility for lift off.
HAPPY HEAD & HANDSTANDS Pt 2
Inversions are both mentally scary and also physically complex. However, the demands of these postures can help cultivate a deeper sense of attention, awareness and strength that lead to improved focus and confidence both on and off our mat. In this second edition of inversions we will break down the anatomy, structural setup and specific nuances needed to safely float at the wall or in the middle of the room. Understanding our own unique body proportions can give us the freedom to float no matter where we are at in the learning process. Gain body awareness and confidence while learning several new techniques to help you levitate with grace and ease. Knowledge is power and oftentimes simply learning about how our body works can alleviate mental limitations we’ve acquired in these postures. Let this workshop tap you into your vast potential and ability to fly lightly and brightly.
